Fasting for Weight Loss (and a new job!)

After 9 years on the job, I went to the office on Monday and my boss informed me that this month would be my last. Very disappointing, but in the current economy I should have seen this coming. I felt very depressed after receiving the news, and after a sleepless night decided I needed to do something drastic to change my attitude and my waistline. I really do need to lose some weight, and this seems like a good time to try fasting for weight loss. I have a friend who swears by it, saying that he has never felt better than after doing a fast. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’ve got to have a good fasting for weight loss plan. Here’s what I’m going to do:

Day One: I’ll slowly wean myself off of regular foods by eating only fruit in small amounts throughout the day. Grapes and watermelon will be my mainstays on day one of my fast.

Day Two: Today I’m going to follow the Master Cleanse plan, otherwise known as the Lemonade Diet. I’ll need pure spring water, fresh lemons, cayenne pepper and a dash of maple syrup. Mix it all up and drink it throughout the day whenever I feel hunger pangs coming on.

Days Three and Four: Continue with the Master Cleanse fast, and also go outside and do some stretching and walking to get my blood circulating and heart pumping. This is important so that the body can eliminate toxins which have built up over time but are now being loosened via the fasting process.

Day Five: Begin drinking freshly extracted vegetable juice using my new juicer that I just purchased. I am reading that carrot and beet juice, along with wheat grass, is a great combination that will purify and clean the blood. I plan to purchase organic fruits and vegetables for my juice fast for weight loss. How many pounds will I have lost by now?

Days Six and Seven: Continue with the fresh vegetable juice from my juice machine. I am sure the high fiber content will be doing great things to detoxify my colon!

Days Eight and Nine: I will attempt to drink only water during this final phase of the weight loss fast. If I am feeling dizzy, then I will have to be careful to monitor my overall physical condition. Hopefully I will have enough willpower to get through these two days!

Day Ten: Begin the transition back to regular foods. Today I will eat a single apple and drink some ginseng tea. It’s important to take things slowly here and not rush it.

Days Eleven and Twelve: Continue the gradual transition to regular foods. Eat mainly raw fruits and vegetables in small amounts. Be careful not to overeat!

I am hoping that when this fast is over, I will have lost around 20 lbs. and will be able to fit into the new business suit that I recently purchased. Then with my new body and new attitude, I’ll go out and find a really good job! Please wish me luck as I embark on this weight loss journey!
